Aqueous Al-Ion Batteries In article number 2101514, Xinhua Liu, Dennis Y. C. Leung, and co-workers propose a high-performance aqueous Al-ion battery with SWCNT cathode an aluminum foil anode. A water-in-salt electrolyte is used to provide multiple electrochemical species so that AlCl4− ions can be extracted Al3+ inserted from/into the during discharging, providing high-energy-density output. This low-cost technology expected utilized for large-scale renewable energy storage systems.
